Pua (n): Hawaiian for 'flower'
Hi! I'm Megan and I'm so glad you're here. I started this small floral business after flowering my wedding. I not only had a blast doing it but received a lot of great feedback on my eye for color and arrangements.
My husband encouraged me to pursue this little dream, starting with classes through the Floral Design Institute in our hometown of Portland, OR, to relocating and running a floral design business here in the Dallas Metroplex. Without him, Pretty Pua Florals might not exist!
The name is an homage to my Hawaiian heritage and Hawaiian name, Kananionapua, meaning "the beautiful flower of heaven." In Hawaiian culture, it's believed the name given to you at birth indicates who you will become in life. I think I'm living up to mine quite well!
I absolutely love anything floral--on sundresses, grown in a backyard garden, or on the dining table. I describe my aesthetic as a little old-school and a little groovy (think 70s!), with a touch of tropical and full of color.
If this sounds like our floral visions match up, let's chat! I'd love to bring joy and color to your life through floral design.
